SNAC teaches kids how to take action with their nutrition. SNAC is the new way to teach the“Back to Basics” way of eating, food is fuel. Within the SNAC series kids learn which foods fuel their body in the best way possible. To help kids understand the “Adult-Lingo” of food, SNAC has re-branded food groups into three categories: Muscle Food, Brain Food and Mover Food. SNAC connects Brain Foods to fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Muscle Foods are associated with protein and Mover Foods represent healthy fats. Together each group in moderation helps a body perform to its maximum potential.
SNAC was created by Carrie Chacon, a Certified Nutritional Consultant who currently sits on the Oceanside Unified School Districts Wellness Committee, has sat on health advisory panels, she has been a guest speaking on Mom On A Mission TV and SNAC is a requested vendor at Kaiser’s Annual Get Fit Expo. Her SNAC program is currently being used in the Oceanside School District, Girls and Boy Scouts of America, The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of San Diego and is part of River Springs Charter Schools wellness education.
